Smell in bag is of vanilla and cream-Whoa-I can’t get the water boiled fast enough!

A 3 minute infusion releases the cream notes. This tea is perfectly balanced, the bergamot is present but not over the top. No need for sweeteners, I did add a splash of milk to bring out the vanilla and crème more.

On an Earl Grey scale, this tea would be ranked as a mild one…a GREAT mild Earl Grey with a creaminess you will have to experience for yourself. For me, the search is over! I can now join with Picard…”Earl Grey (de la crème) Hot.”

TeaFrog Jasmine Green Tea

Dry smell reminds me of the ginger white pear tea. Cute lil’ rose buds are in this tea. Flowery teas are not to my liking, so I will see how this tasting goes.

A 2 minute infusion yields a pale infusion, the first sip is good…I can taste the coconut and the vanilla and the ratio is just right for both ingredients. The vanilla is a natural taste, not fake like so many vanilla flavored teas.

Another home run for Tea Frog and another tea goes on my shopping list. :)

T-Salon Silence

My first tea from T Salon and it looks divine. It’s a blend of roses, vanilla and almond with a red tea base. The Rooibos is clearly high grade, long and slender stems, mixed in with a generous portion of vanilla and almond. I’m happy to see rose pieces in the blend because I’ve had bad experiences with floral teas that are just scented with artificial ‘flavor’.

Brewing this one in my favorite steeping mug because it has a fine enough mesh to contain the rooibos. Steeping in really hot water for 6 minutes. Love how forgiving Rooibos is if I accidently over steep it (almost wondering whether or not it’s even possible to over steep). This tea smells incredible with none of the ingrediants over powering the others, perfect balance. It tastes mostly of vanilla but you can definitely make out the almond in it. I can smell the rose just enough for it to be enjoyable without being perfumy. Planning to spend the rest of today with this tea, inhaling and sipping and enjoying this blend. Would definitely recommend this one to other rooibos lovers.

Golden Moon Tea Vanilla Jasmine

This tea is confusing, and complex. When I first opened the packet I did a double take – bubble gum! But I was opening tea, not gum…? On a second sniff I could identify the vanilla and in the background found a subtle hidden jasmine note. But overall – bubble gum.

My first sip tasted odd… the flavors were complex and hard to pin down. My tongue was confused. I got some creaminess from the vanilla, but couldn’t really taste the jasmine. But I did get a cooling aftertaste in my mouth after the liquid had passed which I think may have been the jasmine. There was a fleeting overtone of “artificiality” in the brew. When I added a little sweetener, I tasted some of the “cream soda” flavor other tasters have reported. But it wasn’t a strong resemblance.

I then tried it cooled, and enjoyed it much more. The melded vanilla and jasmine each stand out as separate yet complimentary flavors.

As an iced tea, this was wonderful. I can very much see myself sitting outside on a warm night, drinking this tea, and being very content. As a warm tea, it wasn’t my favorite, however I know of many others who appreciate it very much. This is one of those teas you’ll have to try for yourself. But, if you do – make sure to try it iced.

The Path of Tea Organic Monks Sacred Blend

Vendor Description and Ingredients: One of our most flavorful teas. Light fruity grenadine lifts exotic caramel vanilla creating a unique heavenly flavor. Excellent smooth and mellow finish.

Review: I recently received this from a friend.  Apparently she lives near the Tea House where this came from.

The Pre-Infusion/Dry Loose Leaf smell is like Vanilla, Apricot, and a hint of chocolate… which is interesting because I don’t think 2 out of those 3 are even in there! But it smells really nice!  My nose can also pick up on a slight cookie or pastry speck of something, too.

While this loose leaf tea is infusing I can smell a little caramel, a little vanilla, a little grenadine, and of course, a little black tea.  The aroma is quite unique and the more I breath in the scents the more intrigued I am by it.

After infusing the wet leaves smell almost candied.  They also smell a little bit like wood.  The liquid itself certainly hits me as grenadine and black tea.

Organic Monks Sacred Blend by the Path of Tea has a handsome medium-dark brown color to it.

Much of the actual ingredients seem to play nice with each other and there isn’t any one ingredient that seems to be too over the top.  As far as I can taste – the grenadine – is in the forefront a bit more than the other ingredients – but it’s sweet and juicy and a great contribution to the flavor instead of being distracting.

You can purchase the Organic Monks Sacred Blend directly from the The Path of Tea website.
