Shanti Tea Lemonade

7 minute brew time with boiling water

Very pretty blend. Green and yellow “grass” like cuttings are sprinkled throughout this lemony blend.

Champagne colored brew.

Lemon grass is the dominant flavor. This blend would be great added to another tea for that just right lemon addition.

As I neared the end of my cup, I noticed the astringency of this herbal blend, which makes me really think that using this as a mix in with another tea would really be the best use for this one.

Overall, a good lemony cup of herbal tea.

Ingredients: Organic Chinese Green Tea, Organic Peppermint Leaf
Vendor Suggested Preparation: not listed online

Dry smell is nice and minty.

A 4 minute brew time yields a light straw colored brew.

My first sip leaves me screaming, “where is the mint?”

This is blasphemy. The Moroccan mint police need to called! Someone stole the mint out of this blend!

The dry smell was to die for, the brewed up tea was a total failure.

I was greatly disappointed with this sample.

Tea Forte Sweet Orange Spice

I just love the silken pyramids-so fancy! The smell is of spices: cinnamon and cloves.

A 3 min brew time yields red tones emitting from the pyramid. It looks like a sunset in my cup. Two dunks and now the color is dark reddish brown. The smell is comforting, the smell of spices being dumped into the mixer bowl..a childhood memory brought back by this tea! This tea is light in comparison to the way it smelled dry. The cinnamon and clove are the only one showing up to this dance. The orange tones are sitting this one out. It is a good warming tea. Good enough to purchase again, probably not, but I am looking forward to consuming the rest of these cute little pyramids.

Ingredients: Fairtrade green tea, Fairtrade root ginger
Vendor Suggested Preparation: Best brewed with boiled water that has cooled for a few minutes. This prevents bitterness and ensures the natural sweet smoothness of the tea shines through. Steep for 1-3 minutes

Hampstead Tea Ginger Green

2 minute brew time

Smell is vegetal with a slight hint of ginger.

Where is the ginger? I don’t know, maybe it is just me, but if the title of the tea has ginger in its name one would think ginger could be found. Not so. I adjusted the times, the temperatures. The green tea base is good and drinkable, but I am still left questioning as to the whereabouts of the ginger. I feel like a detective, looking and adjusting my tactics to see if I can reveal the missing component. Tea is a journey. Enjoying tea should not have to be interrupted with the particulars of a steeping perimeter to make the tea drinkable.

Again, I am left saying to you my reader, if this is the only tea choice in the house, by all means drink up! If you have another choice, take it and save this one for later if at all.

Tea Forte - Coco Truffle

Organic herbal blend, caffeine free.

5 Minute infusion reveals a medium brown brew.

The package is really neat, a silk pyramid filled with cacao, cinnamon, fennel, licorice root, cardamom, ginger, cloves, black pepper. After the 5 minutes, the silk pyramid is full except for just a teeny bit of space at the tippy top of the pyramid. What I really like about Tea Forte is the attention to detail, the pyramid is like a work of art with a cute little green leaf that wraps delicately over the rim of my favorite tea cup.

Smell after brew time is of cinnamon and chocolate (like a really nice expensive chocolate).

First sip revealed a hot cocoa taste with melted chocolate inside. This tea would make a great dessert tea and an even better before bed kind of drink.

Rich and yummy, a dieters dream come true… all the taste of chocolate with zero calories!

This is definitely going on my shopping list, good job Tea Forte.

You can purchase Tea Forte Coco Truffle Tea directly from their website, and in various high-end establishments around the world.
