Biographical: Greetings, salutations and so forth. My name is Geoff and I'm a freelance (read: starving) writer hailing from the hinterlands of the Pacific Northwest. I love it dearly. Two major tea giants have their HQs here, and there are a plethora of microbreweries. But I digress.
I've been an amateur appreciator of "the Leaf" for six years now. My odd little journey began with supplements, to teabags, to white tea, to single estates, to aged pu-erh, and it's been uphill ever since. This exploration has now come to affect my writing - mostly for the greater good (I think?). My palate runs the gamut from Yinzhen (Silver Needle) to green rooibos. However, I also have quite a liking for a good ol' classic Earl and a perfect nighty-nighttime herbal like chamomile.
When I'm not putting off writing the Great American Sci-Fi Zombie Novel, I can be found sporting a five-o'-clock shadow, adorned in checkered pajamas, sipping a hot cuppa somethin'; strong in the morning, weak in the evening. Being a nerd also leads me to look up useless tea trivia (like, did you know there's a Mormon tea?).
One of these days, I hope to find the perfect tea and stick to it. That hasn't happened yet, and there's always an "ooo shiny"-er tea around the corner. My pocketbook weeps at this, but it keeps me entertained. I HAVE to be entertained.
