Biographical: I am an engineer, yoga enthusiast, reader, and tea drinker, who resides with my husband, two teenage daughters, two miniature poodles, one terrier mutt, and an ever expanding butterfly garden in Baton Rouge, LA. I have loved tea (especially sweet and mint) since a little girl but after my teen daughters gave me a gift of loose leaf tea, the search for the perfect tea has become a singular passion. My focus started on flavored dessert teas as it is impossible to resist a drink that tastes like chocolate but has minimal calories. As my palate has been expanding, I also count other bold teas, such as chais, breakfast blends, Darjeelings, and Chinese blacks (including Yunnans and Lapsang Souchongs), as my favorites. Although this may evolve with experience, white teas, unflavored greens, and some oolongs are too subtle for my beginner palate and are not my usual preference.
